The Homebodies

The Homebodies is a project that questions and reflects on how we, as humans, make pivotal as well as seemingly less significant decisions, what we consciously or unconsciously rely on in the process, and how things could have turned out differently. The Homebodies world serves as a stage for projections, where words are freely and playfully put into the mouths of the Homebodies, while also borrowing and boldly recycling ideas and quotes from books by important thinkers.

A new Homebody along with its statement will be regularly reloaded to the website the-homebodies.com. NFTs will soon be available for purchase on opensea.com. Additional media are in the planning stages.

Homebodies and Their Perspectives: to the Homebodies

The Homebodies live in an unknown land where evolution has advanced further than in the rest of the world. This is reflected both in the heightened awareness of the inhabitants and in the mobile homes they carry with them. The mobile homes are an evolutionary masterpiece that solves many problems from the old world. For example, the speculative housing market and the exploitative fashion industry have disappeared because the homes can be used as both living spaces and clothing, as the material is highly adaptable and comfortable to wear.

Homebodies live in coexistence with all living beings and are a modern, forward-thinking people. They live in small groups, which in turn are organized into villages or cities. By positioning their homes close together, settlements are formed where the Homebodies visit each other and lead an intense social life. Cognitively, they are far ahead of the old world, except for one troublesome thing. The ego of the individual is still very prominent, almost as much as in the old world, with all the associated unpleasant consequences.

The Homebodies now need to spend very little time on earning a living, as they use intelligent robots and systems, and evolution has gifted them with a largely untouched nature once again. Now, they face the challenge of not falling back into old patterns and destroying nature and social achievements as they did before.

In their ample free time, the Homebodies reflect on what constitutes a good and fulfilling life and how it should be shaped. They engage deeply with science, philosophy, religion, art, and spirituality, and they argue passionately over differing viewpoints – and yes, the ego from the old times doesn't make coexistence any easier. In discussions, they enjoy using stark contrasts, such as "Celebrate or herbal tea?", to simplify complex ideas.

They also enjoy revisiting the old regions of the world, which have not evolved further, and wonder how the people there still interact with nature and with themselves.

Since Homebodies are very communicative and most of them have strong opinions on almost everything, they don’t hold back and lecture freely, often in an eccentric manner, whenever the opportunity arises.
